Letters, to Mrs. Carter Carrington [manuscript] 1940-44.

Four of the letters are friendly notes and thank-yous from Alain Darlan, a French officer recuperating from polio at Warm Springs, Ga. A thank-you notes, 1940 April 20, to Mr. & Mrs. Tazewell Carrington from an executive of Johnson & Johnson, New Brunswick, N.J. mentions the increased work load resulting from the war. There are fragmentary notes, including one excerpting portion of an article on Marshall Petain. Also in the collection are notes from 1942 magazine article on Francis Darlan, a pamphlet France, crossroads of a continent, 1944, by Helen Day (Hill) Miller, likewise mentioning Darlan, a 1944 Christmas card sponsored by American relief for France and a photograph of Alain Darlan? [4 items ms., print, & photograph (v&w)].
